I've got a new project.

I need to find a way to get 100 people's answers to St. Augustine's question Quid ergo amo, cum deum meum amo? -- "What do I love (desire) when I love (desire) God?"

Or perhaps a variant:
"What do I seek when I seek God?"

Just putting it out there...

Random Observation
I'm genuinely surprised by how many biblical references pop up in my own poetry. Obviously childhood religious education left a pretty deep impression.

Alas, just a sample.  I can't find an online recording of the whole song.  :-(

Otherwise
Hanging in there! Today is radiation zap #8, and I'm tentatively scheduled to begin chemo next Monday.

Grateful that Mercury finally turned direct again this past Saturday. Enough with the miscommunication & confusion!  :-D

Shifting my focus outdoors. Flowers are planted (but I had to sacrifice all veggies except red bell peppers and the blue-podded shelling peas). I have a new rocker on the front porch and a new swing on the back porch. I'm starting to enjoy watching the neighborhood.

Still wrestling with that unwieldy chunk of poetry. I may end up with two self-published books: one for what I consider my truly "good" (i.e. conventional) work, and one for the more irreverent pseudo-poems. I'm making slow but sure progress....

I'm beginning to suspect that the best advice I ever received was Remember to breathe. Let's all take a deep breath right now and get centered. ;-)

Whoa -- what happened to Nervousness? I hadn't visited the site in ages, but I thought I would have heard a bigger bang when it finally ended.

I have many good memories of Nervousness, recently refreshed when I came across a box of zines I produced between 2002 and 2004. It's too bad no other site has been able to coordinate the kind of collaborative projects that the "old" (pre-crash) Nervous Industries made possible.

I'm trying to figure out a way to coherently archive all of this mail art from my Nervous days (and beyond) -- ATCs, postcards, zines, mini-books, Tarot decks, artist stamps, a few larger pieces... It really needs a room to itself. Or a large Hefty bag. :-D

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else found a relatively high-functioning mail art group online? I'm particularly interested in any groups that don't focus exclusively on ATCs.  But nothing too girly with the fringe & the glitter & the heart-shaped beads.  <_<

And does anyone have the scoop on what happened at Nervousness?  Has it reincarnated elsewhere on the web?
